Unemployment Increases Slightly in Starke County

  
 
According to October numbers, Starke County ranks 17th in the state in terms of unemployment, an increase of 0.1 percent from September.

Indiana’s rate fell 0.3 percentage points to 7.5 percent in October compared to Starke County’s 8.1 percent. The U.S. rate is 8 percent.

Pulaski County ranks the lowest in unemployment percentages at 5.7. Marshall County remains unchanged at 7.3 percent, LaPorte County reports 8.6 percent, Fulton County is at 7.3 percent, St. Joseph County ranks 10th at 8.4 percent and Porter County has an unemployment percentage of 6.9.

Forty-six counties reported an increase in unemployment while 29 counties had a decrease.
