Indiana State Police troopers will be joining approximately 250 other law enforcement agencies statewide in participating in the Safe Family Travel campaign that will focus on impaired and seat belt patrols.
The campaign is currently underway and will conclude on Dec. 1.
Troopers urge to be cautious when traveling in this upcoming Thanksgiving holiday season. Make sure you are well rested before you travel, avoid tailgating, use your seat belts, and move over and slow down for emergency and highway service vehicles.
There is a no texting while driving law in the state which is is being enforced and you are reminded that drinking and driving don’t mix. Approximately six out of ten impaired drivers were killed in alcohol-related collisions from 2008-2012.
