ISP Troopers Increase Patrols for Thanksgiving Holiday

 
 
Indiana State Police troopers will participate in Operation CARE (Combined Accident Reduction Effort) from now until Dec. 1. This will allow troopers to patrol Hoosier roadways during this upcoming holiday weekend.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, safety belt use is the most effective strategy you can employ to prevent death and minimize injury resulting from accidents.

The Indiana State Police has also partnered with 250 law enforcement agencies statewide to participate in extra patrols during the Thanksgiving travel weekend.

Officers are part of the annual Safe Family Travel, Operation Pull Over campaign from now until Dec. 1. High visibility enforcement efforts including sobriety checkpoints and saturation patrols with emphasis on impaired drivers and unrestrained motorists will be the main focus during this campaign.
