Update on MCEDC Given to Marshall County Commissioners

The Marshall County Commissioners received a project report from Marshall County Economic Development Commission Executive Director Jay Bahr.

Bahr explained that he has been on 33 business retention calls and calling all business in the county to see what the MCEDC can do to help them.

The shell building project in the Plymouth Industrial Park is moving along. The 45,000 square foot building is being constructed and when finished it can be used by a future industrial company with room to expand. Bahr stated that this is a great way to attract industry, especially in a modern building.

Bahr added that he’s working with the Town of Argos in developing a 75-acre shovel ready site. The town has invested money in the land to help attract industry to the area. Commission President Kevin Overmyer asked Bahr to help the town as much as possible in the next few years especially when the new U.S. 31 bypasses the area. Overmyer stated that he wants to make sure that the existing U.S. 31 and the new highway remains accessible to the area and attractive to business and industry.
