DNR Accepting Reserved Hunt Applications Online

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources has announced that hunters can apply for reserved hunts online, including the Put-and-take Pheasant Hunts taking place at numerous properties throughout the state. The pheasant hunts opened for applications beginning Sept. 1 and are first-come, first-served, but the hunts will actually take place between Nov. 23 and Dec. 1.

Hunters can select the date, property and area for the reserved hunt. Properties offering the hunt include the Atterbury, Glendale, Pigeon River, Roush Lake, Tri-County, Winamac, and Willow Slough fish and wildlife areas.

Applicants must possess a valid hunting license for the species they intend hunt in order to apply for the hunt. Once an application has been submitted for a hunt, it cannot be changed. Those who need to update their contact information can log back into the reserved hunt system to update it accordingly.

After submitting an application, the DNR encourages hunters to print and save the confirmation page. Hunters should also receive a confirmation email, if they have provided a valid email address. Once you have applied, you can double check by logging back into the reserved hunt system.
