Two Starke County Plea and Sentencing Hearings End in Home Detention Sentences

Two plea and sentencing hearings were held yesterday in the courtroom of Starke County Magistrate Jeanene Calibrese, each resulting in a sentence to be served on home detention followed by probation.

Frank Horky pleaded guilty to a charge of Neglect of a Dependent as a Class D felony with other charges dropped including Criminal Recklessness, Intimidation, and Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated. He was sentenced to 18 months in the Department of Corrections with 12 months suspended, and the executed six-month sentence will be served on home detention. He will also serve 12 months on probation.

Horky was originally arrested after allegedly firing a .357 magnum in his kitchen in the presence of his wife and child before threatening another man. He also allegedly operated a vehicle while intoxicated in the vicinity of Central Avenue in North Judson.

Meanwhile, Jennifer Warren pleaded guilty to Possession of Methamphetamine as a Class D felony. A charge of Possession of Marijuana was dropped, and she was sentenced to 18 months in the Department of Corrections with nine months suspended. The executed sentence will be served on home detention as well, followed by probation.
