Starke Commissioners May Soon Vacate Lemon Street in Monterey Resorts

The Starke County Commissioners this week took a discussion under advisement regarding the vacation of a road in Monterey Resorts. Leroy Gudeman approached the commissioners requesting the county vacate Lemon Street on behalf of his client because the road, he said, is not developed – in fact, there’s “nothing there,” he said.

Gudeman explained a notice had been publicized in time for the meeting and adjoining properties have all been given notice. The properties would extend to where the road was located, and with no objections from the public, the meeting was closed.

The commissioners took the matter under advisement until the next meeting to allow time for anyone with objections to come forward, and Commissioner Kathy Norem said they would likely approve the vacation of the road unless an objection arises.
