A woman accused of shooting and killing Ron Worker in the Knox home they shared will be sentenced in Starke Circuit Court today.

Kathleen Holt has reportedly reached a plea agreement with the state. In the proposed agreement, Holt would plead guilty to a charge of Murder with a minimum sentence of 45 years and a maximum sentence of 55 years.

As part of the plea agreement, she would be giving up her right to appeal the sentence.

The plea and sentencing hearing is scheduled for today at 1:30 p.m.

Holt was arrested on the murder charge on Feb. 13 of this year after she reportedly called the Starke County Sheriff’s Department to report that she shot her boyfriend, 51-year-old Ron Worker, at their home at 1740 S. 500 E. in Knox. A preliminary autopsy showed that Worker died of blood loss.
