Congresswoman Jackie Walorski will be teaming up with Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller’s office in hosting a fraud prevention workshop next week at the office of Community Services of Starke County in Knox. During the workshop, presentations will be given on the latest scams and what seniors can do to protect themselves from becoming a victim of fraud or identity theft.

The workshop will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 28 at 1 p.m. CT at the building located at 311 E. Culver Road in Knox.

Walorski said she looks forward to partnering with the Attorney General’s office to raise awareness for senior citizens and Hoosier families about fraud and identity theft protection, and said the workshops provide an educational opportunity to highlight various types of fraud that continue to target innocent citizens in an effort to increase public safety.

Zoeller said one of the most important duties his office performs is visiting Indiana residents to discuss various scams and prevention methods. He said he appreciates the efforts of Congresswoman Walorski to help strengthen these public awareness efforts.

Linda Gurgel, outreach services specialist at the Office of the Attorney General, will share information on the importance of seniors protecting personal and financial information from telemarketing and mail fraud. For those unable to attend, information on the latest scams and consumer complaint forms are available at www.IndianaConsumer.com.
