Shannon Watts will not be facing any more formal charges in court as there were no weapons in the home he was in when officers arrived to take him to jail on an arrest warrant.

Officers were executing an arrest warrant at Watts’ residence in Born’s Trailer Park in North Judson on Tuesday, Aug. 13 and the Pulaski County SWAT Team was called into action when he refused to surrender. He has been known to be in possession of firearms due to his past criminal history, but no weapons were found in the home when Watts was taken into custody and police searched the residence.

Starke County Prosecutor Nicholas Bourff said Watts did have his initial hearing in which he pleaded guilty to a probation violation. Watts’ parole officer is reviewing the case and a parole violation may be added as well.

Bourff stressed that Watts has not been sentenced on the probation violation in which he could receive 18 months in the Department of Corrections, but a hearing will be held soon. Watts remains incarcerated in the Starke County Jail.
