The North Judson-San Pierre School Board met in a special session this week to approve the hires of two teachers and several aides to fill in vacant positions at the corporation. Superintendent Lynn Johnson said the special meeting was held because school begins soon and the board wanted to get this process out of the way before opening the doors for the coming school year.

“Our next official board meeting is Aug. 20, and of course school starts the 14th. We wanted to get these new staff members board-approved so they could turn in their resignations at their current corporations and join us,” said Johnson.

The corporation welcomes Alex Grezenko from North Newton and Jill Ingram from South Central alongside nine aides who will work in the elementary, middle and high schools. Johnson said Grezenko will take the position of elementary physical education teacher while Ingram will be the new 4th grade teacher.

Johnson said the corporation is excited to have these two new teachers in the classroom.

“We were very impressed with their enthusiasm and the connection that they have already shown with children. These are teachers who have been to other corporations and we’re very happy to have them with us,” said Johnson.

Grezenko replaces Kristy Shepherd, who will now be teaching kindergarten and Ingram fills the void left by Jill Houin, who left the corporation to become an e-Learning coach for Triton and Culver schools.
