Leadership Starke County Looking for Future Leaders

Volunteers are welcome to be part of the Leadership Starke County organization.

An opening retreat is set for Friday, Sept. 6 where team and trust building activities will be reviewed as well as a personal assessment and what it is to be a leader.

Joan Haugh from Community Services of Starke County says it’s surprising what one can get out of this organization.

“You learn all about government, non-profits, the educational system, economical development – it just gives you a really good idea of what Starke County is all about and what assets we have here. It also teaches you some tools to use so you become better leaders,” said Haugh.

A session is held once a month for a year in order for participants to gain leadership skills.

Each session is one full day on the first Friday of every month. The $300 fee is inclusive and $100 is due at the mandatory retreat on Sept. 6.
