Knox School Board Informed on Back to School Activities

It’s hard to believe that the school year will start up again in just a little over a month.

The Knox Community School Board members were informed of the registration dates and times for the three buildings during their meeting this week.

Registration will be held on July 30, July 31 and Aug. 1 for elementary and middle school students. Knox High School students will register on July 31 and Aug. 1. The times are listed in this story on our website at www.wkvi.com.

Students enrolling in kindergarten must be 5 years old on or before Aug. 1.

Immunizations must be up to date before the start of school. Immunizations can be conducted at the Starke County Health Department. For eligibility and for an appointment, call (574) 772-9137. Free immunizations and sports physicals for uninsured students will be given during a Back to School Health and Wellness Fair on Wednesday, Aug. 9 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at HealthLinc. For eligibility requirements, call (574) 772-7400.

Applications for free or reduced breakfast and lunch may be made at registration.

Knox Middle School and Knox High School will have Back to School Night on Aug. 12 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and a varied schedule for elementary students. Refer to the schedule.

The first day of school is Tuesday, Aug. 13.
