ISP Troopers to Patrol Roadways in Operation C.A.R.E.

Indiana State Police Troopers will be participating in Operation Combined Accident Reduction Effort, or C.A.R.E., today through Sunday, July 7.

One hundred additional troopers will patrol area roadways in an attempt to reduce the number of crashes, fatalities and injuries over the holiday weekend. Troopers will be targeting drivers who are impaired and motorists who speed, follow too closely, make unsafe lane changes, and drive aggressively. Those who fail to use seat belts and properly restrain children will also be targeted.

Make sure you are well rested if you plan to travel a long distance, avoid tailgating, obey all speed limits, utilize turn signals, avoid using your cell phone, wear your seat belt, and designate a sober driver if you plan on celebrating the holiday with an alcoholic beverage.
