HealthLinc to Hold Back to School Health and Wellness Fair

With the start of the school year less than a month away, many physically active students are in need of sports physicals before they can get in the game, and all students need to be sure they are up-to-date on their immunizations. Fortunately, HealthLinc will soon be holding their Back to School Health and Wellness Fair on Friday, Aug. 9 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

According to Angie Garner, site manager at the Knox HealthLinc office, free immunizations and sports physicals will be administered at no cost for uninsured students that meet income qualifications. Because the immunizations are provided by the state, HealthLinc is required to ensure recipients meet income guidelines.

Garner said they expect about 20 different exhibitors at the fair that will take place at the HealthLinc office, including WorkOne and other employment services, local colleges, community services and other organizations such as Moving Starke County Forward.

The organization will also provide health screenings. The Health and Wellness Fair is part of a national campaign to raise awareness about the mission and accomplishments of America’s health centers.
