Bass Lake Festival Begins Friday

The 2013 Bass Lake Festival kicks off this weekend with a number of events planned to entertain attendees through Sunday. Beginning Friday, the festival starts with a fishing derby at 3612 S. County Road 210 from 8 a.m. through 6 p.m. Saturday. An amateur open mic night follows at the Bass Lake Property Owner’s Association building from 7 p.m. Friday to 9 p.m., and live entertainment will be provided by the Carlos Ramos Band and Nicole Garza across the street from Fingerhut Bakery from 8 p.m. until the close of the day Friday.

Saturday, the festival features a 5K run/walk event at the Lion’s Club Building on the east side of the lake with a start time of 7:30 a.m. A car show is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Terry White’s house at 5292 S. State Road 10 near the beach, with a rain-out date set for Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Bass Lake Walk begins at Sporty’z at 8 a.m. and a Business Expo is planned for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the BLPOA building.

A number of other events are planned as well, including hovercraft rides, a photography contest, build-a-boat contest, people-moving tram rides, a water volleyball tournament, and many more. For a full schedule of events, click here.
