The Eastern Pulaski School Board is moving ahead with their search for a new superintendent.

Current Superintendent Dr. Robert Klitzman announced his retirement in March and will leave the corporation after his contract expires June 30. He has been at the helm for the past 26 years.

Klitzman indicated that initial interviews were conducted yesterday and they will continue today. After these interviews are complete, the board will regroup and make a decision on which candidates would be awarded a second round of interviews. The board members will again regroup and negotiate a contract with a candidate they believe would be best suited to head the corporation. That contract will then be published and a public meeting scheduled to hear thoughts from the public about the proposed contract.

A new superintendent is expected to be in place by the end of July.
