From the Starke County Sheriff’s Department:

Incidents:

06/03/13 – A theft of more than $300 worth of items was reported in the 6200 block of South Range Road in North Judson.

06/03/13 – A resident of the 4700 block of East 200 South in Knox told police that she had received a fraudulent phone call asking her for money.

06/03/13 – A resident of the 5100 block of South Elm Street in Knox reportedly received suspicious text messages asking her for money.

06/03/13 – A green golf cart with a wooden box on the back was reported stolen from the 11000 block of East Circle in Walkerton.

06/03/13 – A motorcycle was reportedly stolen from the 2700 block of East Toto Road in Knox.

06/04/13 – An air conditioning unit was stolen from the 6500 block of South State Road 39 in North Judson.

06/04/13 – A resident of the 5100 block of South Elm Street in Knox told police she is receiving harassing phone calls in reference to a phone scam.

06/04/13 – A resident of the 1800 block of East 350 South in Knox requested to speak to an officer in reference to a fraud.

06/05/13 – James Schwartz of North Judson told police he has been harassed.

06/06/13 – A resident of the 600 block of East 450 South in Knox told police someone had caused damage to his mailbox with fireworks.

06/06/13 – Danny Sitek of Knox reported an electrical motor to his pump had been stolen from Range Road south of State Road 10.

06/07/13 – A resident of the 2000 block of South Tribue Drive in Knox reported a fraud incident.

06/07/13 – A cell phone was reportedly stolen from a residence in the 8200 block of North High Street in Walkerton.

06/07/13 – A resident of the 5200 block of South A Street in North Judson reported a domestic battery had occurred.

06/08/13 – Jessica Patrick at Miller’s Auto requested an officer and said that a man had tried to run her off the road.

06/08/13 – A resident of the 5900 block of South State Road 10 in Knox reported he saw two men and two women steal an air conditioner, furnace and copper from a foreclosed residence nearby.

06/08/13 – Debbie Skaggs of North Judson reported her son had battered her husband.

06/09/13 – An employee of the Bass Lake Pub in Knox reported someone had stolen a Cubota from the parking lot.

Incidents:
06/09/13 The Winamac Police Department investigated a report of a person with a gun. The complaintant said his nephew was outside and a man pulled a gun on everyone. The subject was questioned and said that he had a friend involved in an assault and when the nephew approached his vehicle became nervous pulled his weapon.

06/09/13 A man was arrested when a report came in that he was drunk and refused to leave an establishment in which he was causing problems.

06/09/13 A caller told police that two dogs were following her while she was taking a walk toward Nices bridge. When she got to the bridge, a man with a rifle threatened to shoot the dogs while she stood there. She took the dogs and left the area. The owner was eventually called to claim the dogs.

06/09/13 A caller reported the theft of items from her mother’s garage.

06/06/13 A domestic battery incident was reported to police.

06/05/13 A Winamac resident reported the theft of tools, a toolbox and other items.

06/05/13 A caller told police that her boyfriend slammed her neck while she was riding in a vehicle. She jumped out of the car and is now stranded. The victim did not want to press charges and the victim was transported to Good Oil where she could get a ride back to Portage.

06/04/13 A Winamac resident reported an attempted break-in. A three-inch cut of tear was made in the back screen door.

06/04/13 Emergency personnel were called to a location on north State Road 39 in reference to a roll-over accident. One person was injured in the accident.

06/03/13 A Star City man reported that his girlfriend took his car after she had been drinking and didn’t have a license. He wanted to report the car stolen, but didn’t want to press charges.

06/03/13 A resident spoke to a police officer in reference to a threat made to her on Facebook.

06/03/13 An employee at a Francesville business told police that a man left the store without paying for a tire.

Arrests:
06/11/13 Travis Rowe, 21, of Medaryville, IN, arrested on an active arrest warrant for Failure to Appear.

06/10/13 Melvon Doty, 39, of Monterey, IN, arrested on a probation revocation.

06/06/13 Duane Altman, 25, of Michigan City, IN, arrested on an active arrest warrant for Failure to Appear.

06/04/13 Noble Shelton, Jr., 24, of Lafayette, IN, arrested on an active arrest warrant.

From the North Judson Police Department:

Incidents:
06/08/13 A passerby reported to police that he was following a vehicle that was driving all over the road. The vehicle was last seen heading west on State Road 10. The officer checked State Road 10 to U.S. Hwy 421 and was unable to locate the vehicle.

06/08/13 North Judson Police responded to a civil matter in the 500 block of West Talmer Avenue.

06/07/13 Police responded to a reckless driving complaint south on State Road 39. The officer located the vehicle and followed it. The officer followed it for a few miles and he did not see any erratic behavior.

06/06/13 Officers responded to a juvenile complaint in the 500 block of Laurel Street.

06/05/13 A property damage accident was reported in the parking lot of the high school. Chief Doug Vessely estimated the damages at over $1,000.00.

06/05/13 A member of the Hoosier Valley Rail Road reported that there were three juveniles trespassing on railroad property.

The North Judson Police would like to remind you that being present on railroad property is considered trespassing. Signs are posted and if you are caught on the property you can be charged for Criminal Trespass.

06/04/13 Police responded to a property damage accident on State Road 10 east of North Judson. A vehicle struck a deer. Officer Frank Thomas estimated the damages at over $1,000.00.

06/04/13 North Judson Police assisted a motorist with removing a flat tire off of a vehicle in the 400 block of East Talmer Avenue.

06/04/13 A passerby notified police of a semi with a leaky load on State Road 10 west of North Judson. The officer checked the area and was unable to locate the semi.

06/03/13 Police responded to a vandalism complaint in the 400 block of Wilson street. A vehicle was struck by some eggs.

06/03/13 Officers assisted the Starke County Sheriff’s Department with serving a warrant.

06/03/13 A complaint was made of juveniles ringing door bells and running in the 400 block of Hancock street.

Incidents:
06/11/13 Jose Perez reported the theft of cash and credit cards from the inside of his vehicle.

06/07/13 Howard Brownfield told police that his wife’s wallet is missing.

06/07/13 Rick Fornelli requested the help of police. He reported that his step-mother’s house was egged.

06/07/13 Knox police responded to a call in which James Mueller reported the theft of items from his vehicle. A safe in the vehicle was also broken into.

06/06/13 Jamie Hardesty reported money missing from her business.

06/03/13 Zachary Coburn told police that his car was damaged when he left it at the BP gas station.

Arrests:
06/07/13 Franklin Mowbray, Jr., 23, 430 W. Elm Dr., Knox, IN, arrested on an active arrest warrant through Starke Circuit Court.

06/07/13 Sammy Bottorff, 19, 3750 E. State Road 10, Knox, arrested on preliminary charges of Theft and Minor Consuming. He was later back in jail on two counts of Child Soliciting.

06/05/13 Steven Pastorcik, 30, 310 N. Heaton St., Knox, IN, arrested on two Starke County arrest warrants.
