North Judson Mint Festival Kicks Off Tonight

The North Judson Mint Festival begins today!

The carnival opens tonight at the catholic church parking lot and Hoosier Highway will open a full weekend of great music from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Norwayne Field. The Karaoke Contest begins at 6 p.m. at the St. Peter Lutheran School.

A great tradition of the Mint Festival includes the naming of the father and grandfather of the year. Children write to the committee and explain why their father or grandfather should be selected for the recognition. The winners will be announced at 7 p.m. in Norwayne Field.

Other activities are planned throughout the Mint Festival including the return of the mint farm tour at 2 p.m. Saturday, the Dr. Ufkes 5K run/two-mile walk on Saturday morning, the car show Saturday morning, the cooking with mint contest, train rides by the Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum, Kersting’s Mint Fest ride on Saturday, and endless music. On Sunday, don’t forget the pet fun walk and pet fun run, the pet parade at 1:30 p.m., and the regular parade at 3 p.m.

It’s where mint is green in 2013!
