“It’s been good, it’s more like a family. I will miss the students and the entire staff; they’ve all been great,” said Mosher.
Mosher said she has no major plans for her retirement; it was “just time” for her to say goodbye to the North Judson-San Pierre School Corporation. However, she said traveling isn’t out of the question, and she likes the idea of spending more time with her family.
“I have a grandson that’s going to be moving to Tennessee – he’s in the military. He’s in Kansas right now, and we have some friends that are just moving to Texas this week. We had dinner with them Sunday, and they said, ‘We have a room for you any time you want to come and visit,’ so I thought that was great,” said Mosher.
Mosher said there haven’t been a lot of changes during her time in the cafeteria – that is, up until recently, when the cafeterias had to watch the grains and calories and provide extra fruits and vegetables for the students. She said there haven’t been many changes to the equipment, just a few oven and refrigerator replacements. The boiler and the steamers, she said, have been working valiantly.
After announcing her retirement, Mosher said her coworkers surprised her with a show of appreciation.
“The girls all had a big surprise for me the other morning, a retirement party, and that was great. They came in and decorated my whole office and had lunch for me and gifts. It was very nice,” said Mosher.
