A LaPorte woman was arrested late Tuesday evening after an alleged assault.

A witness and one of the victims reportedly told LaPorte police that Kristina Yacconi, 34, came home intoxicated. Yacconi allegedly went into the kitchen and proceeded to assault one adult and the victim’s 10-year-old daughter. The witness pulled Yacconi off the victims and sat on her until the victims could leave the room. Yacconi left the residence.

Officers soon found Yacconi at a neighbor’s house and took her into custody. While she was being processed at the LaPorte County Jail, Yacconi became combative and allegedly assaulted a police officer and a jail officer.

She was booked into the LaPorte County Jail on preliminary charges of Battery to a Law Enforcement Officer as a Class D felony, Battery to a Child as a Class D felony, and Battery as a Class A misdemeanor.

This case has been forwarded to the LaPorte County Prosecutor’s Office for further review.
