A Rochester man was arrested in Miami County following a traffic stop that led to a search which turned up methamphetamine and drug precursors in his possession. A state trooper stopped 27-year-old David Lowe for following a vehicle too closely and having overly-tinted windows, but after Indiana State Trooper Daniel Prus activated his emergency lights on his marked police vehicle, he reportedly saw Lowe switch seats with a female passenger.

The trooper determined that Lowe was driving the vehicle and was found to be a habitual traffic violator, and a subsequent search of the vehicle turned up chemical drug precursors and drug paraphernalia. Police also reportedly found two small plastic bags, containing a white powdery substance, on the ground in the immediate area next to Lowe. The powdery substance field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Lowe was incarcerated in the Miami County Jail on drug charges. Citizens are encouraged to call their local law enforcement agencies with any information about the possession, distribution, or manufacturing of methamphetamine.
