Incidents:
05/05/13 A break-in was reported in the Winamac area.

05/05/13 Two theft calls were made to the sheriff’s department.

05/05/13 Officers were called out to investigate a reported theft.

05/04/13 Deputies investigated a report of a possible intoxicated driver.

05/03/13 A report of trash dumping at the old sewage plant was called into the sheriff’s department.

05/02/13 Deputies and emergency responders were called to a personal injury accident. An arrest was made the next day. The driver who allegedly caused the accident had left the scene and checked into the ER at the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth. Joey Frinkel faces preliminary charges of Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Crash and Operating a Vehicle While Never Receiving a License.

05/02/13 The Winamac Fire Department was called out to a location on U.S. 35 for a large brush fire. The fire was in a field.

05/02/13 A Winamac resident told police that his neighbor took a “no trespassing” sign from his yard and placed it in his own yard.

05/01/13 A Star City man told police that he hit a turkey or peacock which caved in his windshield.

05/01/13 A man was arrested after leaving a bar in Monterey and operated a moped while intoxicated. The owner later told police that he got his moped back but a second key and his dentures were missing.

04/30/13 Two theft calls were made to the sheriff’s department.

Arrests:
05/03/13 Joey Allen Frinkel, 28, of Winamac, IN, arrested on preliminary charges of Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Crash and Operating a Vehicle While Never Receiving a License.

05/01/13 James Hunt, 21, of Star City, IN, arrested on a bench warrant.

From the North Judson Police Department:

Incidents:
05/03/13 North Judson police responded to a vehicle that had slid off on Mulberry Street onto the railroad tracks and was unable to drive off of the tracks. Bau’s wrecker service was utilized and the vehicle was safely removed.

05/03/13 Starke County Police advised the North Judson police of a black S-10 driving recklessly near 500 South and 600 West that was also damaging telephone boxes. The vehicle was heading toward State Road 10.

05/02/13 North Judson police officers forwarded a shoplifting report to the Starke County Prosecutor in reference to an incident at Ray’s Super Foods.

05/02/13 A report was given to police of a reckless driver in a two-door silver Pontiac in the 600 Block of Cherry Street. The vehicle was gone upon arrival.

05/01/13 Dollar General employees reported that a shoplifter left the building without paying for an item. Chief Deputy Joe Budner responded and after an investigation he arrested 28-year-old Brandon R. Owens of North Judson.

05/01/13 A minor property damage vehicle accident occurred in the Dollar General parking lot when Angie Blount, of North Judson, pulled into a parking space and struck a parked vehicle. North Judson Chief Deputy Joe Budner investigated the accident and set damages at over $2,500.

05/01/13 North Judson police received a report of an older man who was asking for directions near Lane and Sycamore Streets. He reportedly asked a younger girl to get into his vehicle and help him get to the place he wanted to go. The girl left and told an adult who stated the vehicle left the scene.

04/30/13 A theft and trespassing report was made in reference to an incident on Mint Road.

04/30/13 Police responded to a female person having unknown problems. She was checked and medics were advised.

04/28/13 A shoplifter was reported at Ray’s Super Foods. North Judson police officers investigated and turned a complete report into the Starke County Probation Department on a 15-year-old female juvenile. The items were later returned.

Arrests:
05/01/13 Brandon Ray Owens, 28, 4740 South 100 West, of North Judson, IN, was arrested on a preliminary charge of Conversion.

Incidents

04/29/13 – A resident of the 5900 block of West Sherwood Street in North Judson reported that someone had stolen her identity.

04/29/13 – A trail camera was reportedly stolen from the backyard of Deloris Smith’s residence.

04/30/13 – A resident of the 3100 block of East 400 South in Knox told police that someone had attempted to obtain a credit card in her name at Target and made a fraudulent withdrawal from her account.

05/01/13 – Police conducted a methamphetamine lab investigation in the 8300 block of East 150 South.

05/01/13 – A caller reported a male subject was stealing irrigation parts near the intersecction of county roads 400 East and 700 South near Knox.

05/01/13 – A residential burglary was reported in the 4700 block of East County Road 210 in Knox.

05/02/13 – The stop sign at the intersection of county roads 200 East and 900 South in Knox were reported missing.

05/02/13 – A woman reported someone had stolen items from a residence in the 2200 block of East 200 South in Knox.

05/02/13 – Snowmobiles were reported stolen from the 1800 block of Indiana Avenue in LaPorte.

05/03/13 – An iron gate was reportedly stolen from a residence in the 10300 block of West State Road 10 in San Pierre.

05/04/13 – Ruddy Desabatine told police the Chesapeake Run Golf Course had been broken into.

05/05/13 – A theft was reported in the 9800 block of South Birch Street in Monterey.

Arrests

05/03/13 – William Leon Edwards, 37 of Walkerton, was arrested for driving while suspended with a prior conviction.

05/04/13 – Gayle L. Ambrosini, 50 of North Judson, was arrested on charges of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated and False Reporting.

Incidents:
05/07/13 Devin Fry reported the theft of a video game console, controller and two games.

05/03/13 Dawn Hurt told police that money and other items were stolen from her hosue.

05/0213 Bob Smith called police to report that his son’s moped was moved while parked at the high school. The handlebar lock and the ignition had been damaged.

05/07/13 Ashleigh Brewer, 25, Riverside Dr., Knox, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Possession of Narcotic Drugs (Heroin).

05/05/13 Dewayne Bacon, 18, 409 High St., North Judson, IN, arrested on preliminary charges of Illegal Possession, Public Intoxication and Criminal Mischief.

05/05/13 Kelly R. McCarty, 37, E. Danker St., Knox, IN, arrested of preliminary charges of Battery and an active arrest warrant.

05/03/13 Carla Jaskowiak, 20530 State Road 8, Culver, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Public Intoxication.
