Governor Mike Pence has offered Indiana’s full assistance and support to the people of Oklahoma as they come to grips with the aftermath of Monday’s deadly tornado. Pence also commends Hoosiers for their generosity in assisting those in need during this emergency.

“When faced with tragedy, Hoosiers respond,” Pence said in a statement. “On behalf of the State of Indiana, I commend the countless Hoosiers offering their time and resources to assist those impacted by the devastating tornadoes in Oklahoma. The First Lady and I extend our deepest condolences to the families of those who lost loved ones and offer our continued thoughts and prayers for those affected as they grieve and begin to rebuild in the days and weeks ahead.”

The Midwest Food Bank, with the help of Indiana’s Office of Faith Based and Community Initiatives, has already sent two truckloads of relief supplies earlier today with several more expected to be shipped in the coming days. Hoosiers interested in assisting victims of this natural disaster are encouraged to donate online at http://www.midwestfoodbank.org/make-a-difference/donate-online/.
