While the Marshall County Blueberry Festival is still a few months away, the festival board of directors has announced that Jake Owen, one of country music’s leading vocalists, will be performing at the festival on Friday, Aug. 30 at 9 p.m. at Centennial Park in Plymouth. Owen released the album “Barefoot Blue Jean Night,” which delivered three consecutive number one hit singles – the first two of which held the top spot on the chart for a number of weeks.
Owen has appeared on a variety of shows, including Good Morning America, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and Chelsea Lately. He’s been featured in Entertainment Weekly’s music issue, and he will soon join Jason Aldean on his Night Train Tour, which kicks off on Jan. 21.
The festival begins on Friday, Aug. 31 at 5 p.m. and will conclude on Monday, Sept. 3 at 6 p.m. However, the carnival will open a day early at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 30, and close at 10 p.m.
Owen will perform on Friday at 9 p.m., with gates opening at 7:30 p.m., rain or shine. For tickets and other information, visit www.blueberryfestival.org.
