A Plymouth man was sentenced in Marshall Superior Court I Wednesday to consecutive sentences of 10 years each for dealing in and manufacturing methamphetamine.

Terry A. Kovacs Jr. admitted in open court that on Jan. 10, 2012, he delivered methamphetamine to an individual at a gas station in Plymouth who was working with the Undercover Narcotics Investigation Team. That individual also conducted a sale at Kovacs’ home. Kovacs even tried to convince the undercover individual to start a business operation of manufacturing and selling methamphetamine.

During the sentencing hearing, Kovacs admitted that on May 21, 2012, he manufactured methamphetamine in his Cook Lake Trail home.

A plea agreement between Kovacs and the state of Indiana was accepted by Pro-Tem Judge Walter Palmer. Kovacs was then sentenced to 10 years in the Indiana Department of Corrections for a charge of Dealing in Methamphetamine. He was also sentenced to 10 years in the DOC with five years suspended on a charge of Manufacturing Methamphetamine. The sentences will be served consecutively for a total of 15 years in the DOC. He will also serve two years on probation after his release from prison.
