Representatives of many area nonprofit organizations gathered Tuesday at the Lindenwod Retreat and Conference Center in Donaldson to discuss how to better serve residents in Starke and Marshall Counties. This networking event was organized by Earthworks and the Marshall County Community Foundation.
It was found that many nonprofit organizations assist each other without coming up with any agreements in case legal issues arise. Legal matters could disrupt grant distributions and applications.
Communications issues were also identified and how to better improve needs through the proper channels of communication.
Those in attendance collaborated to find how the units can network together without the need for formal agreements and what services can be provided with other nonprofit groups in both counties.
