Rensberger said that it’s hard to find a carnival because of the number of fairs and festivals throughout the state competing for the attractions, but Circus City Amusements came with good recommendations from other carnivals. Despite their small size, Rensberger said the circus will be able to handle the 4-H Fair crowd, but they’re still negotiating for discounted days for this year’s fair.
Also returning this year is the Beautiful Baby contest, run by St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, and Rensberger said the event always draws a huge crowd. On top of that, this year the fair will be boasting Barnyard Olympics, a new event that was well-received last year. He said the Olympics are a good chance to allow kids to go wild and have a good time after spending a long week competing in the animal shows.
