Incidents:

04/22/13 – A resident of the 11500 block of East 900 South in Culver reported her identity had been stolen.

04/22/13 – An officer spoke with Jenny Hinney at the marina in Knox regarding identity theft.

04/22/13 – James Melton of Walkerton told police that several subjects got out of a vehicle at his neighbor’s home and busted out windows before fleeing.

04/23/13 – A caller from the 9300 block of West State Road 10 in San Pierre reported someone in an older green Dodge truck struck a fence on State Road 10 just west of Wapples Farm on the north side, then left the scene.

04/24/13 – A man in the 9600 block of East 150 North in Knox told police he had been abused by his wife.

04/25/13 – A resident of the 2400 block of East Toto Road in Knox reported someone had hit a mailbox and left the scene in a light brown Buick.

04/27/13 – James Wright of North Judson told police that two male subjects were in his garage that he did not reconize, so he locked them in until police could arrive.

04/27/13 – A caller reportedly found a methamphetamine lab made from a pop bottle, freezer bag and surgical tubing around the 6700 block of South Shewski Road in Knox.

04/27/13 – A resident of the 7500 block of East 350 South in Knox reported someone had stolen a riding law mower, car ramps and other items from his home.

04/27/13 – Keith Patrick told police someone had broken into his home and stolen several items in North Judson.

04/28/13 – A driver reported someone had shot his windshield out o nState Road 23 north of State Road 8.

04/28/13 – A theft was reported in the 2400 block of East 50 South in Knox.

Arrests:

04/22/13 – Ryan P. Linscott, 24 of Grovertown, was arrested on charges of Harrassment and Reckless Driving.

04/26/13 – Michael Rea Keller, 30 of North Judson, was arrested following a traffic stop at the intersection of State Road 10 and U Road in North Judson.

From the North Judson Police Department:

Incidents:
04/27/13 Police responded to a property damage accident in the 700 block of W. Talmer Avenue. A vehicle backed into the storage locker building and caused extensive damage to the building. This incident is still being investigated.

04/26/13 North Judson police were stationed at the high school all day during classes for security purposes.

04/25/13 – North Judson Police responded to a property damage accident on S.R. 10 and C.R. 850 West. The driver of the vehicle stated, that a deer struck his vehicle. The driver did not want a crash report.

04/25/13 The North Judson Police Department responded to a bomb threat at the North Judson-San Pierre High School. The high School and middle school were searched by police, members of the North Judson-Wayne Township Fire Department, School Administrators and two bomb sniffing K9 units. The buildings were cleared of any bombs after a long, extensive search. This incident is still being investigated and person(s) involved will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

The North Judson Police Department would like to thank the following agencies for their assistance with this incident: North Judson-Wayne Township Fire Department, Starke County Sheriff’s Department, Starke County EMS and the Starke County Prosecutor’s Office. The two other agencies also assisting were the Lake County Sheriff’s Department and Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District(NICTD) for sending their K9 units.

They would also like to thank the North Judson-San Pierre school administrators, clerical staff, teachers, custodians, parents and students for their cooperation during this incident.

04/24/13 A resident in the 600 block of Keller Avenue reported that her food stamp card was missing from her mailbox.

04/23/13 North Judson officer, Frank Thomas, was on patrol in 200 block of Maryland Street and observed a suspicious vehicle with two male subjects in it. Officer Thomas approached the driver’s side of the vehicle. Officer Thomas observed in plain view the driver, Andrew John Harrison, 21, of Plymouth with marijuana in his lap. After a brief investigation, Harrison advised that the marijuana and paraphernalia was his not the passenger’s. The passenger, Damon Ray Howard, 19, was released from the scene and Harrison was arrested.

04/23/13 Officers assisted the Indiana State Police on a traffic stop in 500 block of English Lake Road.

04/22/13 North Judson Police responded to an unwanted guest call in the 5200 block of County Road 250 West. Both parties involved were advised to stay away from each other.

04/22/13 – North Judson Police responded to an town ordinance complaint in the 400 block of Schricker Avenue. A tree cutting company did not have a town permit and they were advised to get a permit.

–The North Judson Police Department would like to remind contractors that they need to obtain a contractor’s permit from the North Judson Town Clerk’s Office before they begin any work in the town of North Judson.

Arrests:
04/23/13 Andrew John Harrison, 21, of Plymouth, arrested on preliminary charges of Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Paraphernalia.

Incidents:
04/28/13 A complaintant told police that his wife was intoxicated and he and his wife were arguing. He said his wife then got out a shotgun, loaded it and went into the bedroom. He didn’t think that she would actually hurt anyone, but police went to investigate the situation.

04/27/13 A driver was pulled over on U.S. 35 and Spring Street due to an unreadable temporary tag.

04/27/13 A Winamac resident reported hearing gunfire around Riverside Drive. Winamac officers investigated and the officer did not hear any gunfire.

04/27/13 Firefighters from the Monterey-Tippecanoe Township Fire Department were called to an out-of-control brush fire in the Culver area.

04/27/13 Officers were called to investigate a domestic issue. The victim did not want to press charges and while her injuries were visible, she would not let officers photograph them.

04/26/13 Officers were called to a home in Medaryville on a call that someone shot at a garage and hit a vehicle.

04/25/13 Medaryville officers were called to investigate a theft.

04/22/13 A caller complained that she has gotten five calls in the past three days from people claiming to be from Publisher’s Clearing House. They tell her that she’s won $3.5 million and she will be receiving some boxes in the mail. She was instructed to go to CVS and get the green card worth $90. When the boxes arrive in the mail, she will see a number on the bottom of those boxes. She was told that she would need to call the number on the boxes once she obtains the card from CVS. Police indicated that this is a scam. If you encounter a similar situation, call the police department.

04/29/13 Samantha Davis, 25, of Monticello, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated.

04/26/3 Joseph Matthews, 30, of Michigan City, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Possession of Marijuana.

04/25/13 Jamie Elkins, 36, of Logansport, IN, arrested on a violation of home detention.

 
 

From the Knox City Police Department:

Incidents:
04/29/13 Knox police assisted an Indiana State Police Trooper in a moped accident. Jack Parker was subsequently arrested after failing field sobriety tests. He was traveling northbound on U.S. 35 just south of the city limits when he lost control of the moped and wrecked. He reportedly told police that he had been drinking at an establishment at Bass Lake. He was booked into the Starke County Jail on a preliminary charge of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated.

04/27/13 An alleged battery was reported to police. The incident involved a juvenile and an adult. No charges were filed but the report has been forwarded to the Starke County Prosecutor’s Office for further review.

04/27/13 Brian Houston reported the theft of a handgun from his home.

04/27/13 Clinton Wilcox, 20, was cited for operating a motor vehicle without receiving a license.

04/23/13 A harassment report was filed but no arrests were made.

04/29/13 Terry Wilgus, 61, 201 E. John St., Knox, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Public Intoxication.

04/28/13 Plaze Campbell, 28, 204 Arrowhead Trail, Porter, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Public Intoxication.

04/28/13 Lonnie Morgan, 50, 5397 W. 650 N., Winamac, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated and cited for driving left of center.

04/26/13 Scott Brashear, 27, 2180 E. State Road 10, Knox, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated.

04/25/13 Gregory Krischano, 61, 1307 Wood St., Valparaiso, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Habitual Traffic Violator.

04/23/13 Alfred Higdon, 40, 302 E. Delaware St., Knox, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana and Illegal Drug Lab-Possession of Precursors.
