IU Health LaPorte Offering Educational Session on Immunization Practices

 
 
For those whom administer immunizations or are interested in learning more about vaccine-preventable diseases, an IU Health is offering an educational session covering all aspects of immunization practices. “Immunizations from A–Z” will take place on Saturday, April 20 from 8 a.m. to noon CT at IU Health LaPorte Hospital in the lower level auditorium.

Topics to be covered during the session include vaccine updates; child, adolescent, and adult immunizations; general recommendations; safe and effective vaccine administration; vaccine storage and handling; reliable resources; and an overview of CHIRP.

Tracy Chiles of the Indiana Department of Health will conduct the session, and recommends the training for NPs, RNs, LPNs, CNAs, MDs, MAs, Pas, and faculty and students in the medical field. The session comes at a low cost of only $10, but registration is required with a deadline of Tuesday, April 16.
