Ancilla College Offers Help in Making Plans for College

Planning for college can sometimes be overwhelming with such decisions as choice of college and paying for college.

Kelly Manning, Admissions Counselor at Ancilla College in Donaldson, says if you’re looking to go somewhere local, attend the Access Ancilla Day on the campus on Thursday, Feb. 28.

“It’s a day for prospective students to come and take a look at the campus,” explained Manning. “We will be offering lunch and a tour and lots of information will be available about scholarships and financial aid. It will be held at 11:00 a.m. CT here at the campus and we’re asking that you preregister. You can do that through our website at www.ancilla.edu.”

An information session about the college and how to go about getting into a college will be presented later that evening at the Henry F. Schricker Public Library in Knox.

“The presentation is called ‘A College Degree is Closer Than you Think’. A lot of people maybe don’t know how to go through that college process and that’s what this presentation is about. Maybe someone wants to change their career or have a higher paying job and that’s what we’re going to be talking about. We’ll discuss how Ancilla can help them and we’ll be available for questions. We’ll have short presentations at 5:20 p.m. and 6:20 p.m.”

Free help in filling out the Free Application for Free Student Aid will be given on Sunday, Feb. 24 at Plymouth High School and Manning will be there to help you fill out the form.

“All of the staff from the Financial Aid and Admissions Office here at Ancilla will be there to assist people in filling out their FAFSA form.”
