Snowfall Causes Several Accidents Throughout Area

Yesterday’s snowfall caused a number of accidents throughout the area, though no serious injuries have been reported.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department reported a rollover accident on Lincoln Highway, west of Gumwood Road, involving a 2002 Chevy Blazer drived by John P. Premetz. Officials say Premetz, 30 of Warsaw, was traveling west on the highway when he lost control of his vehicle at around 7:20 a.m. and left the roadway. The vehicle then rolled over and sustained significant damage.

Premetz walked away with minor injuries to his hand and denied medical attention at the scene.

Hardly one hour later, another SUV left the roadway on 12B Road west of Jarrah Road. Police say 47-year-old Alicia R. Bryant of Plymouth was traveling the road around 8:30 a.m. when she lost control of her vehicle, left the road and traveled into a farmer’s property where the 2004 Jeep struck a fence.

Bryant’s vehicle sustained damage, and the fence wasn’t in very good shape, but she came out of the accident with no injuries.
