The cause of the fire at the Sandbar at Bass Lake remains under investigation.
The Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the early Sunday morning fire that destroyed the structure of the popular Starke County business.
Bass Lake Fire Chief Les Jensen said the Bass Lake Fire Department, and four other departments battled the blaze for three hours. Firefighters arrived on scene shortly after 4:26 a.m., when flames and smoke were seen shooting out of the roof of the building.
Jensen has not released a preliminary cause of the fire, but will release the official cause when the full report comes back from the Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office.
