Angela Schwei Sentenced in Starke Circuit Court

Starke County Courthouse

Starke Circuit Court Judge Kim Hall accepted a plea agreement for a San Pierre woman accused of slashing a woman’s leg in the Burger King parking lot in North Judson.

Angela Schwei, 32 of San Pierre, was arrested on Aug. 2 for allegedly cutting a woman’s leg open with a sharp object following a verbal argument in Burger King. The fight ended shortly before North Judson police officers arrived on the scene, and the victim was transported to IU Health Starke Hospital where she was treated and released.

Schwei was arrested and booked on charges of Aggravated Battery Causing Bodily Injury and Battery with a Deadly Weapon.

On Dec. 12, Schwei was sentenced to eight years in the Department of Corrections with two years suspended. A restraining order will stay in effect for the full eight years, and she is required to take her medication and must pay restitution within 30 days of her release. When she is released from the Department of Corrections, she will serve the rest of her time on probation.
