Starke County Police Arrest Three On Warrants

The Starke County Sheriff’s Department arrested three people on outstanding warrants Friday morning.

Stephan Buckingham and James Hattery were arrested on warrants for probation violations. Hattery had been sentenced to time in the Department of Corrections in 2010 and after serving his sentence in the DOC, he was placed on probation. While on probation, police say he committed Domestic Battery as a Class D felony and Intimidation as a Class D felony, prompting a warrant to be issued for his arrest. Hattery will appear in the Starke Circuit Court tomorrow for a hearing.

Buckingham reportedly violated his probation by driving on a suspended license, a Class A misdemeanor, and he reportedly committed C-felony burglary. A warrant was issued for his arrest as well for violating the probation he was placed on as part of the sentencing for a robbery he committed in 2009. He appeared for his initial hearing yesterday in the Starke Circuit Court, and the matter was set for a status hearing on Nov. 29 at 1 p.m.

Bobby Harkness, on the other hand, was arrested on a warrant for Failure to Appear. Harkness is currently facing charges in the Starke Circuit Court which include Dealing in Methamphetamine as a Class B felony and Driving While Suspended as a Class A misdemeanor. His final pretrial conference and plea agreement deadline is set for Dec. 13 at 8 a.m.
