Man Arrested after Cocaine is Found in His Vehicle

A man was arrested in Marshall County after cocaine was found in his vehicle.

On Saturday, a woman contacted an off-duty officer who said her boyfriend reportedly battered her. A battery report was taken and she was jailed on a preliminary charge of Public Intoxication. On Monday, she was released from the Marshall County Jail and she apparently called the same man who battered her to pick her up at the jail.

Marshall County Sheriff’s Deputies were made aware of this and they met the suspect when he pulled up to the jail. The suspect, Jerome Harris, was arrested on a preliminary charge of Domestic Battery.

When police searched his vehicle, they found a significant amount of cocaine along with items used in the sale and distribution of narcotics. Harris was then additionally charged with Dealing in Cocaine over three grams, a Class A Felony and Possession of Cocaine over three grams, a Class C Felony. His bond is set at $10,000 cash.
