Unspecified Threat Made To Valparaiso University; Classes Unfazed

Valparaiso University students were shocked to learn yesterday morning that an unspecified threat had been made to the school. School administrators sent students an email urging them to be alert and report any suspicious activity in light of the threat.

The university told students that the threat was made through graffiti and suggested that dangerous criminal activity would take place at the school during chapel break on Friday, but made no indication of the location or nature of that activity.

According to university spokeswoman Nicole Niemi, the Valparaiso University Police Department, local authorities, and the FBI investigated the threat, but a search of the campus turned up nothing suspicious, even with the aid of canines.

This menace follows other threats made at universities across the country, including the University of Texas at Austin and North Dokota State. Both of those campuses were evacuated, but classes at VU continued uninterrupted.
