Over-the-Phone Voting Deemed a Scam

Residents are warned not to accept phone calls offering over-the-phone voting. Indiana Secretary of State Connie Lawson received several phone calls from constituents who received calls from Vote USA that offered them an opportunity to let them vote early over the phone.

This is a scam.

An investigation was conducted into the company and found that the caller will advise you that lines will be long on Election Day and you can vote over the phone. Caller ID lists the caller as Vote USA and lists the number as 425-390-8108. If you receive a call from Vote USA, ignore the call. Again, this is a scam.

Any suspicious, unsolicited political calls should be reported to the Secretary of State’s office, the Indiana Election Division, or your local county clerk. Call 1-866-461-8683 to report a suspicious call.
