Knox McDonald’s Gets A Thorough Facelift

Contractors have their work cut out for them as they renovate the Knox McDonald's.

The Knox McDonald’s restaurant is going through an extensive renovation.

Store Owner Bill Boldt said the entire store is going to look different when the major renovations are done.

“It’s going to be a new, modern design,” said Boldt. “It’s going to be what McDonald’s calls an ‘archaic building’ – it’s kind of like a square building. We’re going to have outside seating, the lobby is going to be all new, we’ll have bigger bathrooms, a double drive-thru, and counter service will be a little different. It’s going to be totally redone.”

The store will remain open during the remodeling process and the project is expected to be complete in 60 days, although Boldt estimates a quicker completion time.

The McDonald's in Knox is undergoing heavy renovations.

“I think we can get it done sooner. It’s going to look really pretty and cool,” said Boldt. “It’s going to stand out. It’s going to be, as far as I’m concerned, the best-looking McDonald’s around. I’m really glad we could do this for our town. We have the greatest customers in the world.”

The store first opened in Knox 21 years ago.
