Burn Ban Lifted In Starke County

The Starke County Commissioners have once again lifted the county’s burn ban.

The recent rains have improved conditions and residents are now allowed to safely burn debris, but must follow the county’s burn ordinance which states what people can and can not legally burn. A copy of this ordinance can be found here.

Starke County officials will continue to monitor drought conditions and the ban will be reinstated if necessary.

Pulaski County lifted its burn ban a few weeks ago.

Drought conditions continue throughout the state. Nearly a quarter of Indiana is in an exceptional drought – the worst kind of drought possible. The U.S. Drought Monitor showed Thursday that the driest areas are in west central and southwest Indiana.
