After newly-hired Culver Town Manager David Schoeff introduced himself to the community this week at the meeting of the town council, and thanked the community for its warm welcome, he got right to business.

Schoeff told the council that he had a meeting scheduled with the local OCRA representative, Gerry White, at 1 p.m. on Wednesday this week to discuss any outstanding projects, and to get an idea of what areas can be improved by future projects. Utilities Superintendent Bob Porter and Clerk-Treasurer Karen also attended this meeting.

The town also received a request from Harbor Condos to place a dumpster near the intersection of Washington and Coolidge streets for the summer months. According to the request, the dumpster would be located at least two feet away from a fire hydrant and on top of a storm drain, but Schoeff expressed concern that the water and other waste that leaks from the dumpster may enter the storm sewer drain and flow into the lake.

Councilwoman Sally Ricciardi recommended that Schoeff and Porter work with Harbor Condos to find an alternate location for the dumpster, and a motion was passed to not allow the dumpster to be located near the storm drain.
