Voters To Be Presented With Question Regarding North Judson Town Board Member Increase

North Judson Town Board

The North Judson Town Board’s plan to increase the size of the board from three members to five will be presented to the public for their approval in November on the general ballot. According to Clerk-Treasurer Donna Henry, voters will be asked if they support the referendum to increase the board’s size after the Starke County Election Board ensures it gets on the ballot.

The board also received an update regarding the establishment of a second entrance into Highland Cemetery. Board President Wendy Hoppe spoke with Starke County Commissioner Kathy Norem, who said the entrance should not pose a problem. This week, the town’s utility crew cleared the overgrown trail that was previously an entrance to the cemetery and removed a chain blocking the path, officially opening the entrance. The cemetery can now be accessed via Ind. 10 and County Road 300 West. Henry says no audience members voiced opposition to the entrance.
