Drug Free Double Dare Event Scheduled for Sunday

The Drug Free Double Dare Challenge will be held this Sunday, April 15th at the Knox Middle School. This is the 12th year for the popular event which brings middle and high school student teams together to answer prevention questions about the harms of alcohol, tobacco and drugs.

WKVI’s own Tom Berg will be the M.C. for the event that will be held from 1:30-3:00 p.m. CT.

Last year, 60 students participated and all three Starke County schools were represented. The public is invited.

The team with the most points wins the challenge, each team member receives a prize, and the school receives the traveling plaque for the year to display in their school.

One of the challenges is for teams to pass a bucket of water from person to person with their feet without dropping the bucket.

That’s the Drug Free Double Dare Challenge, sponsored by the Drug and Tobacco Free Starke County organization. The sponsors include NIPSCO, Plymouth Veterinary Clinic and Kankakee Valley R.E.M.C.
