Pulaski County Sheriff Michael Gayer

Incidents:
01/07/12 Officers were called to Denham with a report of a truck in the ditch. One person was seen walking around the area, but he was not injured.

01/07/12 A truck was in the ditch in the Monon area, but no injuries were reported.

01/07/12 A Pulaski resident said that she has been out of state for a couple of months with her son and her friends have been watching her residence. She noticed that her electric bill has more than doubled since her friends have been staying there. Her friends have notified her that there is an orange extension cord going from her house to the residence just west of her. She thinks her neighbors are stealing electric from her residence.

01/07/12 A two vehicle accident was reported in the Francesville area, but no injuries were reported.

01/07/12 A call came into the Sheriff’s Department where a resident in Winamac received a package at her residence but she didn’t order anything. The resident had heard about a scam where a person orders something and puts a different address on the package and it is delivered to that address. The person then picks up the package at that address before the homeowner comes home or notices that a package is there. The caller didn’t want to file a report, but wanted the Sheriff’s Department to know this was happening.

01/07/12 A car vs. deer accident was reported in the Harris Township area. No injuries were reported.

01/06/12 A caller in the Star City area reported that some unknown person(s) threw a brick through her window while she and her husband were watching TV.

01/06/12 A car vs. deer accident was reported to the Winamac area. The driver was reportedly six months pregnant, but does not need medical attention. She was not otherwise injured.

01/06/12 A state highway department worker called to report that he was in a car vs. deer accident. No injuries were reported.

01/06/12 A semi was stopped by the airport as liquid oxygen was spilling from the tank on the truck.

01/05/12 A Winamac resident reported a hit and run accident. A delivery truck just hit her car and minor damage was done.

01/05/11 A resident in the Pulaski area told police that a man in a truck has been coming around the area, parking and sleeping. The person went up to the car and saw the man laying across the seat. The person in the truck told police that he stopped there to rest and he fell asleep. He is leaving the area.

01/05/12 A resident in the Star City area called and said a man approached her claiming to be with a construction company but she couldn’t understand him very well. It seemed suspicious. Several other calls came into the Sheriff’s Department about this same type of incident.

01/04/12 A Winamac resident called police to report that someone took her medications off her TV stand.

01/04/12 A car vs. deer accident was reported in the Harris Township area.

01/04/12 A Denham resident reported a theft from his property. Some unknown person(s) drug an old pop-up camper with flat tires down the lane and left big marks. He said the suspect(s) stole a lot of scrap from the property.

01/04/12 A Francesville resident called police to report a reckless 4-wheeler.

01/04/12 Michelle Hanson, 40, 408 S. Franklin, Winamac, IN, arrested on preliminary charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Syringe and Public Intoxication. Discharged 01/06/12

01/03/12 John Potter, 29, 6555 N. Hazel Rd., Knox, IN, arrested on an active Marshall County warrant. Discharged 01/04/12

01/03/12 Leah Bollenbacker, 23, 1109 E. 9th St. Apt. 31, Rochester, IN, arrested on an active Marshall County warrant. Discharged 01/03/12

Incidents:
01/05/12 Todd Wallsmith from the law office of Nichols and Wallsmith called police to report that some unknown person(s) threw a rock through his office window. His office is located on Washington Street. Police observed that the window screen had been cut but no access into the building was made.

01/05/12 An employee at the Next Door Food store reported a drive off of $20.01 in gas.

01/04/12 A surveyor with Stephenson Land Surveying reported finding a meth lab in the woods behind the First Pentecostal Church.

01/07/12 Robert Peddycord, 18, 401 Wilson St., North Judson, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Illegal Possession.
Ethan Bailey, 18, 511 Magnolia St. North Judson, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Illegal Possession.
Cody Barnette, 18, 201 E. Talmer Ave., North Judson, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Illegal Possession.
James Manns, 18, 5350 S. Detroiter Ln., North Judson, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Illegal Possession.
One juvenile was also arrested on a preliminary charge of Illegal Possession.

01/04/12 Michael P. Smith, 31, 635 N. 1025 E., Knox, IN, arrested on an active arrest warrant for Failure to Appear.

01/04/11 Kenneth C. Greer, 27, 902 S. Main Street, Knox, IN, arrested on an active arrest warrant through Lake County.

Incidents:
01/05/12 A resident f the 8200 block of South U.S. 35 told police that he had been threatened.

01/05/12 A caller told police that a male subject in the roadway was pointing a flashlight into vehicles near the rest park on Ind. 10.

01/04/12 An employee of Welcome Mat Real Estate told police that she saw a flashlight inside a foreclosed residence in the 7600 block of East 25 North in Knox.

01/03/12 Kyle Nissen of North Judson advised police that someone had stolen his 2002 Volkswagon Beetle.

01/03/12 An employee of Economy Auto in Knox told police that someone had stolen four of their advertising flags and poles, and had broken into his shed as well.

01/03/12 Bill Haney of K&B Storage in Walkerton told police that someone had been cutting the locks off of their storage units.

01/02/12 Bob Troike told police that he had found a plastic bag containing syringes and other paraphernalia near the Kline Arm Bridge on Ind. 39.

01/02/12 Terry Chmiel of Knox told police that there were two brand new golf carts parked at his neighbor’s residence that he believed may have been taken from the golf course.

01/02/12 Ernie Hickey of Knox told police that a male subject was at his residence in the 2200 block of East 150 South trying to kick the door in and demanding to be let in or he would shoot them.

01/02/12 David Vermilyer, Jr. told police that someone had stolen his pain medication.

01/02/12 Tim Prater told police that while he was at a party the night before, he and his wife were battered by a male subject.

01/01/12 A caller advised police that there were three or four males walking on Ind. 23 towards Ind. 8 and shooting guns in the air.

01/01/12 Vicki Richey of North Judson reported a male subject tried to get into her home, first through the front door, then the back door, and then walked into her garage.

01/01/12 A caller told police that she had been shot at while near a residence in the 2200 block of East 150 South in Knox.

01/03/12 Christopher Fields of Knox was arrested on preliminary charges of Dealing in Marijuana with a Prior Conviction, Possession of Marijuana Over 30 Grams, Possession of a Controlled Substance X 2, Possession of a Syringe, Habitual Offender.
