From the North Judson Police Department:

Incidents:
09/25/11 A resident in the 600 block of Arlington Avenue reported his Silver 2007 Toyota Corolla taken from his driveway sometime from 10:00 p.m. Saturday until Sunday morning. North Judson Police Chief Deputy, Joe Budner, is investigating the motor vehicle theft. The vehicle was left unlocked with the keys on the passenger seat.

09/25/11 North Judson Police Chief Deputy Joe Budner investigated a property damage accident at the intersection of State Road 39 and Highway 10. A semi was turning east off of State Road 39 and needed to back up in order to make the turn. The driver, from Etna Green, while backing up, collided with a Geo Tracker causing damage. Estimated damages was set at over $750.

09/24/11 During a traffic stop, the driver of the vehicle, Joshua Shepherd, of Culver, was arrested by North Judson Police Officer William Scheiderer for Driving While Suspended with a Prior Conviction. His vehicle was impounded.

09/23/11 A property damage only fender-bender occurred in the 300 block of Dahlke Street Friday morning. North Judson Police investigated the accident where Eardon Agee backed out of his driveway and hit a parked vehicle. North Judson Police Chief Doug Vessely estimated damages at over $1,000.

09/21/11 North Judson Police received a report of a disabled vehicle on State Road 10 east of town. Officer William Scheiderer arrived on scene and observed a male subject pushing his vehicle. The driver was cited for Driving While Suspended and his vehicle was impounded.

09/20/11 A property owner reported to the North Judson Police that neighborhood boys are cutting down her trees and using it for campfires.

09/19/11 A vandalism report was taken by the North Judson Police in the 300 block of W. Weninger Street in reference to a vehicle was hit by eggs multiple times. Two additional neighbors reported an egg thrown at their home as well.

Arrests:
09/25/2011 Gilbert C. Bolster, 25, North Judson, IN, arrested for a Warrant through Starke Circuit Court for Child Support Obligation.

09/24/2011 Joshua W. Shepherd, 23, Culver, IN, arrested for Driving While Suspended with a Prior Conviction.

09/23/2011 Lee Patterson, 39, North Judson, IN, arrested for a Warrant for Neglect of a Dependent.

Pulaski County Sheriff Michael Gayer

Incidents:
09/25/11 A resident in the Denham area told police that there are loud vehicles driving back and forth of his residence and then it sounded as if someone was banging on the garage. The caller said that two abandoned houses north of his residence have been robbed and he has seen fresh tracks going in and out of those houses. He requested extra patrol.

09/25/11 A resident in the Monterey area reported that the eastbound stop sign at 600 East and 600 North are missing. When police arrived on scene, they saw that the post the sign was on was hit by a vehicle. Police are wondering if it was hit by the person who called about the sign as the accident appeared new.

09/25/11 A Francesville resident called to report shots fired and said the shots came from the front of the park. Police determined that the shots were fired in a safe direction around the area for practice shooting and the person was shooting at a ground squirrel.

09/25/11 Police received a call about a suspicious man roaming around a business taking scrap. The man had put some aluminum cans in the back of his pickup. Police spotted the suspect and asked him to put the aluminum cans back where he found them.

09/25/11 A caller told police that there was a possible drunk driver all over the road in Winamac. Police caught up with the suspect and the suspect told police that he was texting while driving. He told police that he had been arrested by the Indiana State Police two weeks prior for Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated, but in this case, he did not smell of alcohol and was given a verbal warning for texting while driving.

09/25/11 A Medaryville resident told police that a generator and TV are missing from a storage shed. The caller also said that he was at his rental storage unit and the lock was changed. After an investigation, officers learned that several locks were changed after they were cut off by unknown subject(s). The owner had tried to contact the complaintant to advise him of the change, but was unable to get a hold of him.

09/24/11 A caller in the Bruce Lake area told police that he was putting up a deer blind on his own property when one of his neighbors came on his property and started threatening him. He said he was a police officer. He and his 10-year-old son were at the property getting ready to hunt deer and the person who was harrassing them was purposely driving a 4-wheeler around and making noise so it ruined the hunting day. A conservation officer who investigated the incident said it is a misdemeanor offense to bother someone while hunting.

09/24/11 A Francesville resident reported the theft of cash and an X-Box.

09/24/11 A caller in the Beardstown area told police that a lady is out on U.S. 35 sweeping. A couple of cars had to slow down for fear of hitting her. She was sweeping her yard and now she’s sweeping the highway. Officers confronted the person who said that she likes to go barefoot out to her mailbox and was sweeping around the mailbox so the rocks don’t hurt her feet.

09/24/11 A caller from Francesville told police that there is someone in his driveway letting the air out of his tires. Last month, the caller had a flat tire and a broken window.

09/23/11 A property damage accident was reported at the intersection of Monticello and Spring Streets in Winamac. Minimal damage was reported.

09/22/11 A caller in Star City reported that some unknown person(s) spray painted a building and left behind evidence.

09/22/11 While a police officer was out doing a VIN check, it was noted that the vehicle was reported stolen. The owner of the truck reported the truck and driver missing in January and then he tracked them down in Nebraska and fired the driver. The owner then drove the truck back to Michigan and sold it and did not tell police that he recovered the vehicle.

09/22/11 A resident called to report two vehicles stolen from her yard about one month ago. She talked to the lien company who said that they didn’t repossess them. She thought the company had the cars and that’s why she’s just reporting them stolen now. The officer said they have been missing so long, they will not do a report.

09/21/11 A caller reported an abandoned trailer fire in Medaryville.

09/21/11 A caller reported the theft of a field cultivator, six tractor weights and a white 1982 International semi.

09/20/11 A caller reported that shots were fired behind the complaintant’s house in the northwestern part of Pulaski County.

09/20/11 A Winamac resident called police to report that he hit a large tree down across the roadway. He did not see if because of the fog. Crews were called to dismantle the tree and clear the hazard from the roadway.

09//20/11 Vandalism was reported in one of the cemeteries in Winamac.

09/20/11 A mother caught her own daughter shoplifting and called the police on her.

09/20/11 A Pulaski resident reported the theft of his new John Deere riding lawn mower.

09/26/11 Travis S. Tuttle, 31, of 7000 S. 450 W., Star City, IN, arrested on preliminary charges of Habitual Traffic Violator and Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated.

09/25/11 Jeffery D. Lange, 52, 7995 W. 700 N. Winamac, IN, arrested on an active arrest warrant.

09/23/11 Eric Kemp, 29, 612 ½ S. Market St, Winamac, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated. Discharged 09/23/11

09/21/11 James A. Miller, 46, 14254 W. 600 N., Medaryville, IN, arrested on an active arrest warrant. Discharged 09/22/11

09/21/11 Marla Frank, 39, 1023 N. Monticello, IN, arrested on preliminary charges of Driving While Suspended and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Discharged 09/22/11

09/21/11 Jeannie Rubalcava, 52, 6508 US 421, Medaryville, IN, arrested on an active arrest warrant.

Incidents:
09/26/11 An employee at Cambe’s called the police to report that seven locks had been cut and laying in front of the storage units located behind the business. The locks have been replaced and extra patrol was requested.

09/24/11 Police located a purse laying in the intersection of St. Louis Street and Shield Street in Knox belonging to Destiny Spencer. She was reportedly at O’s Tap when she had a medical emergency and the officer returned the purse to her after she was transported to IU Health Starke Hospital.

09/24/11 An employee at Mark’s Body Shop reported that the air conditioning unit had been stolen from the business at 253 E. John Street.

09/24/11 An employee from Smith Farm Store reported the theft of headphones from the store.

09/19/11 Sandy Ferris reported the theft of a rototiller from her yard.

Arrests:
09/25/11 Jerome Clark, Jr., 36, 10452 E. 600 N., Grovertown, IN, arrested on preliminary charges of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated and Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated with a BAC of at least .15%.

09/24/11 Michael Watts was arrested on a preliminary charge of Theft.

09/24/11 Annette Beedle, 54, 404 S. Prettyman St., Knox, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Invasion of Privacy.

09/23/11 Ellis Clemons, 44, was arrested on preliminary charges of Possession of a Legend Drug and Maintaining a Common Nuisance.
Brandie Kotras, 33, was arrested on preliminary charges of Possession of a Legend Drug and Maintaining a Common Nuisance.
Tracie Young, 25, was arrested on preliminary charges of Possession of Marijuana and Maintaining a Common Nuisance.
Steve Wilson, 40, was arrested on preliminary charges of Possession of Marijuana, Maintaining a Common Nuisance and Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.

09/22/11 Danny Traylor, 51, 3720 E. Toto Rd., Knox, IN, arrested on preliminary charges of Resisting Law Enforcement by Fleeing and Reckless Driving. He was cited for driving left of center and driving while suspended.

From the Starke County Sheriff’s Department:

Incidents:
09/24/11 A resident in the 3000 block of S. 100 W. in North Judson called police to report that a male subject has been walking back and forth in front of her residence for approximately a half hour.

09/24/11 A resident in the 900 block of W. 450 S. in North Judson told police that a male subject drove a stock car down State Road 39 and ran her off the road. The vehicle also ran other vehicles off the roadway.

09/24/11 A resident in the 3800 block of E. Toto Road in Knox requested extra patrol. He said that he saw someone on his property. He said his home was broken into a while ago.

09/23/11 A resident called to report that a vehicle was stuck on the railroad tracks on State Road 23 south of 200 South and someone is trying to get the vehicle off the tracks at this time.

09/22/11 A resident in the 700 block of Cherry Street in North Judson reported the theft of a money order.

09/21/11 A resident in the 100 block of N. U.S. 35 in Knox called police to report that he found a bag with someone’s personal property including prescription bottles and clothing.

Arrests:
09/21/11 Algin Trent, 46, of North Judson, IN, arrested on preliminary charges of Trespass and Theft.

Accidents:
09/26/11 Erin Eaton, 19, of North Judson, was traveling north on U.S. 421 when a red GMC pickup truck went to pass her at a high rate of speed. When the pickup truck was attempting to pass, a semi coming south on U.S. 421 was approaching, and was going to hit the pickup truck head-on. The red GMC pickup swerved back towards her vehicle which caused her to go off the road and down into the ditch and then her vehicle started flipping end over end. A witness gave the same statement. Eaton was treated for her injuries.

09/25/11 Kimberly King, 34, of Knox, said she was driving east on State Road 10 when she noticed a vehicle driving erratically and then it crossed the center line and hit her head-on. After the crash, Carson Rowe, 38, of North Judson, fled the scene on foot. The officer did a non-custodial interview with Rowe and he reportedly told police that he had been drinking and he was very tired and passed out behind the wheel and crashed head-on into King’s vehicle. He then became worried his insurance had expired so he fled the scene.

09/21/11 Kelly Carey, 23, of Knox, was traveling eastbound on State Road 10 just east of County Road 1150 East when he lost control of her car. She said she doesn’t know what cased her to lose control. The vehicle left the roadway, rolled three times, and came to rest of its roof. She exited the vehicle through the trunk area and pulled the passenger through the trunk as well. Both the driver and passenger, 27-year-old Jacquline Allsop, of Knox, were taken to IU Health Starke Hospital for treatment.
