Police Reports are simply a record that an arrest has been made and are not an indication of guilt or innocence.

Pulaski County Sheriff Michael Gayer

Incidents:
09/11/11 A Monterey resident called police to report that some unknown subject(s) broke into his garage again. There were several items taken, including the security camera.

09/11/11 Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department was called to a vehicle accident in the Star City area and one person was injured.

09/11/11 A man driving a motorcycle and hit a deer in the Star City area. The driver only reported a scratch on his elbow and a family member was going to take him to the hospital to tend to the injury.

09/10/11 A Denham resident reported the theft of a dirt bike. The dirt bike was chained to the truck that’s for sale in his front yard.

09/09/11 A seven-year-old girl called police to report that some unknown subject(s) had broken into a car on the property and stole a stereo. The babysitters were at the residence but were sleeping at the time of the call. When police arrived on scene, the adults said the child didn’t attempt to wake them. The child thought she might get into trouble if she woke them up. They didn’t think anything was wrong with the vehicle but would call if they found something wrong.

09/09/11 An Elkhart resident told police that he owns property in Pulaski County and articles have been stolen from the residence.

09/09/11 A Monterey resident called police to report that all of the tires on her new truck were slashed.

09/09/11 An officer was made aware of a vehicle in the parking lot of a local business that appears to have severe window and body damage. The caller who called this in was unsure how the driver would be able to see on his/her way home.

09/09/11 A resident in the northwestern part of the county reported that people were firing a gun. Police asked neighbors about the call and they stated that they heard shots a few hours ago but nothing since then.

09/09/11 The Francesville EMS responders were called to a residence in reference to a woman who suffered from burns after trying to kill a bug and light it on fire with gasoline. The fire got out of control but it is now out, but she is injured to the point that her skin has “melted”. She was later airlifted to the burn center in Fort Wayne due to her injuries.

09/08/11 A Medaryville resident called police to report that some unknown subject(s) cut the tires on the vehicle.

09/08/11 A rollover accident occurred outside of Star City but there were no injuries.

09/07/11 A Denham resident reported the theft of a TV, DVD player, Play Station, and clothes.

09/07/11 A Francesville resident notified police of an accident in front of her residence. The driver reportedly struck a tree in from of the house. The driver was injured and bleeding.

09/07/11 An employee at a Winamac gas station reported a drive-off of $20.

09/06/11 A caller told police that it appeared that crops were damaged due to someone turning around in a corn field.

09/06/11 A caller in the Radioville area reported that some unknown person(s) broke into the shed and took a lawnmower and other items.

09/12/11 Nathan Gamblin, 20, 1486 N. US 35, Winamac, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Assisting a Criminal. Discharged 09/12/11

09/12/11 Brandon Gamblin, 28, 1486 N. US 35, Winamac, IN, arrested on an active arrest warrant. Discharged of 09/12/11

09/10/11 Kevin L. Heiny, 44, 6886 E. CR 900 N., Royal Center, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated. Discharged 09/11/11

09/10/11 James E. Gill, 52, 55335 State Road 119, Star City, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated. Discharged 09/10/11

09/09/11 Brian Graham, 26, 4834 Hamilton, South Bend, IN, arrested on an active arrest warrant.

09/09/11 Jerry Button, 46, 3201 W. 250 S., Winamac, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Habitual Traffic Violator. Discharged 09/09/11

09/07/11 Brandon Michael, 29, 253 E. 150 S. Apt. 1, Winamac, IN, arrested on an active arrest warrant. Discharged 09/08/11

Accidents:
09/11/11 One person was injured in a two vehicle accident south of Winamac. Corey Heath, 22, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, told police that she was traveling on County Road 250 East and came to the intersection on US 35. She said she did not see the vehicle driving south on US 35 and entered into the intersection. Heath entered into the intersection and struck the vehicle driven by Linda Roth of Royal Center. Roth stated that she didn’t see Heath’s car until it was too late. Heath refused medical treatment at the scene and Roth was taken to Pulaski Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Incidents:
09/10/11 Nathan Chambers reported the theft of a black neoprene riding mask with a white skull on it. The item was last seen on the handlebars of his motorcycle.

09/08/11 Tim Miller of Knox told police that he returned home from work and found that the garage entry door was open and there was reportedly no damage done to the lock and the lock was in the locked position. An edger, weedeater and stereo speakers were reported stolen.

09/08/11 Robert Brandt reported the theft of construction tools from a home they are remodeling. The suspect(s) reportedly entered the home through a bedroom window.

09/11/11 Steven Gott, 26, 203 N. Main St. Apt. C, Knox, IN, arrested on an active arrest warrant.

09/11/11 Michael Hoekman, 20, 3600 E. Debby Dr., Knox, IN, arrested on preliminary charges of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated, Minor in a Tavern, Illegal Possession.
Boston Tunis, 19, 3204 Rustic Ln, Crown Point, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Illegal Possession.

09/10/11 Thomas Thomas, 48, no address given, arrested on preliminary charges of Public Intoxication and False Informing.

09/09/11 Anthony Allen, 37, 1010 Denny Dr., Knox, IN, arrested on preliminary charges of Domestic Battery and Domestic Battery in the Presence of a Child Less Than 16 Years of Age.

09/09/11 Brian Keith Greene, 26, 7859 W. 700 N., Winamac, IN, arrested on preliminary charges of Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Paraphernalia and Operator Never Licensed.
Natasha Lynn Piper, 21, 1240 W. 150 S., Knox, IN, arrested on preliminary charges of Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Paraphernalia.

09/08/11 A juvenile was arrested on a preliminary charge of conversion.

09/02/11 Jeremy McDougal, 35, 5885 U Rd. Lot 10, North Judson, IN, arrested on preliminary charges of Public Intoxication and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Accidents:
09/10/11 The Knox City Police Department was called to a two vehicle accident on Williams Street. Monica Yoldash, of Knox, told police that she was northbound on Williams Street, approaching the tracks just south of John Street. As she was crossing the railroad tracks, she observed a van in the middle of the road. She swerved to miss the van and left the roadway, striking a tree head-on. The driver of the van, Kenneth Burton, said he was southbound on Williams Street from John Street when he observed Yoldash’s vehicle travel over the tracks at a high rate of speed which caused her to travel airborne. She then lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree. Yoldash was transported to IU Health Starke Hospital for treatment.

Incidents:
09/11/11 A resident in the 1000 block of E. 700 S. in North Judson requested to speak to an officer because her neighbors were chasing down her dogs with a 4-wheelers.

09/11/11 A San Pierre resident reported the theft of a gun from his vehicle.

09/10/11 A Knox resident called police to do a welfare check on her in-laws. Her mother-in-law is reportedly dying and can’t be left alone and their daughter has cut off her ankle bracelet and left the residence.

09/10/11 The ambulance service reported a tow truck in the ditch off 750 North near Walkerton but when police arrived, there was nothing there.

09/10/11 A resident in the 3500 block of 800 S. in Knox told police that she is building a house and when she came home, the trees that had been cut down were deliberately set on fire. She would like to file a report and is requesting extra patrol.

09/10/11 An officer was requested at Round Lake Cemetery for property damage to the fence.

09/09/11 Two residents in the 8900 block of S. Jefferson St. in Monterey told police that their vehicles have been broken into

09/09/11 Two residents in the 8800 block of S. Adams Street in Monterey told police that someone went through their vehicles and stole some items. One resident told police that she said it appeared that someone had tried to hot wire it.

09/08/11 A resident in the 1800 block of W. Dawn Dr., in North Judson reported the theft of a vehicle. He last saw the vehicle in February before he went on an extended vacation.

09/07/11 A resident in the 1500 block of W. Toto Road in Knox told police that he was in a verbal argument with his neighbor and now he believes he stole his dog.

Arrests:
09/10/11 William J. Miller, 43, Portage, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Theft.

09/09/11 William David Smith, 22, of Fontaine, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Public Intoxication.

Accidents:
09/10/11 Jennifer Zuniga, 26, of North Judson told police that she was traveling south on County Road 250 W when she observed deer in the roadway. She didn’t see the deer earlier as it was foggy. She swerved to miss the deer and she left the roadway. The vehicle rolled over and and it was totaled. She received minor injuries in the accident.

09/07/11 Douglas E. Kline, of Granger, IN, told police that he was traveling North on U.S. 35 just north of 300 North near Hamlet when he said he must have dozed off. The vehicle left the roadway and flipped. He was transported to IU Health Starke Hospital for treatment.

Incidents:
09/10/11 Another report of two bicycles missing from a yard in the 400 block of High Street was taken by the North Judson Police. Both bicycles were Schwinns, one a man’s bike and the other a woman’s. The man’s bike was blue and had an older chrome headlight.

09/09/11 It was reported to the North Judson Police that an unknown male entered an unlocked vehicle parked in a driveway in the 600 block of Oakwood Street. The home owner came outside and the man fled. Nothing was reported missing. North Judson Police Chief Doug Vessely again reminds residents to keep their vehicles locked when unattended.

09/07/11 Around 7:40 a.m., North Judson Police were informed of a property damage accident in the 400 block of Lane Street. North Judson Chief Deputy Joe Budner responded and investigated the accident. A 1995 GMC Van, driven by Ramon Santiago from Knox, was going North on Lane Street and struck a 2004 Honda that was parked on Lane Street in the driver’s side rear quarter-panel. Budner estimated the damages at over $2,500.

09/07/11 North Judson Police took a report of a stolen bicycle, a men’s green bike, from the 500 block of E. Talmer Avenue.

09/06/11 A North Judson resident reported to police that her vehicle had the windshield smashed with a brick while it was parked on the street in the 300 block of George. The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. and North Judson Police are working on a lead.

09/06/11 Around 7:50 p.m., the North Judson Police responded to a truck vs. deer accident on Talmer Avenue near the intersection of Oakwood Street. Brent Katschke was driving east on Talmer when a deer ran into the roadway. He struck the deer causing an estimated $2,500 damage to his 2007 Dodge Ram truck. North Judson Officer Bill Scheiderer investigated the incident.

09/06/11 North Judson Police took a violation of a Protection Order report in reference to a male subject making indirect contact with a female subject by sending her a message. The report was furnished to the Starke County Prosecutor’s Office for review.

09/05/11 North Judson Police responded to a report of a man having been battered in the 300 block of Lincoln Avenue. The home owner advised the man involved was an unwanted guest and asked to leave the residence. The incident remains under investigation.
