ISSMA Marching Band Contests Begin Saturday

The 39th Annual Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) marching band season begins with District contests at seven sites Saturday, October 1st.

More than 16,000 students in 168 high schools will participate.

The Regionals are October 15th at four sites, and 10 bands representing four classes will then be selected for the State Finals on October 29th at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

The Indiana Dairy Farmers are the corporate sponsors and the bands will be evaluated on music and visual captions at each event.

Knox and John Glenn are both in Class D and will go to Penn High School for District competition. John Glenn will take to the field at 11:26 a.m. ET and Knox will perform at 12:05 p.m. ET. Other bands in Class D are Bremen, Triton, NorthWood, and Fairfield. Plymouth is in Class B and will perform at 2:15 p.m. ET at Penn High School.
