Accident in Royal Center Takes Lives of 3 Teenage Boys

The lives of three 19-year-old boys were tragically lost in an auto accident this weekend in Royal Center. Erron Stoddard of Winamac, Brandon Lee Miller of Winamac, and Bruce Leearmel Wireman of Culver were killed when their SUV crashed into the rear of a parked semitrailer. They suffered blunt force trauma with massive internal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.

The SUV was driven by 26-year-old Joshua Barcus of Winamac, who was in critical condition Saturday at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne after being transferred from Logansport Memorial Hospital. The accident occurred shortly after 4:00 a.m. ET on Saturday, and investigators believe alcohol and high speeds may have played a part in the accident, according to a news release from the Cass County Sheriff’s Department, and heavy fog may have also been a factor.

The accident is still under investigation by the Cass County Sheriff’s Department.
