Two Violent Felons Arrested in North Judson

Two individuals were apprehended in North Judson after police received a complaint regarding people manufacturing methamphetamine and in possession of firearms at 1860 W Dawn Drive. After a brief investigation, the Starke County Sheriff’s Department discovered the suspects have been convicted serious violent felonies in Indiana and Michigan. Officers from the Starke and Pulaski County Sheriff’s Departments, a Knox K-9 officer, and North Judson Police went to serve an arrest warrant at that address for Illegal Purchase of Ephedrine.

Billy Coldiron was apprehended, and several pistols and long weapons were found in his possession. While on the scene, officers picked up on a strong chemical odor, and upon further investigation, discovered several Coleman Fuel cans in the trash by the residence.

The officers then went to speak to the second subject mentioned in the complaint: Clarence Norem. Norem was located in a camper on the property, and officers discovered a shotgun in his possession. He was immediately arrested, and a search warrant was requested.

After the warrant was granted, police returned to the scene and discovered six firearms altogether in the residence, garage, and the camper. They also found several components to manufacturing methamphetamine and a stolen vehicle from Porter County.

Coldiron is charged with five counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon, Dealing Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Precursors, while Clarence Norem is charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon.
