Pulaski Memorial Hospital Sponsors Baby Shower for Tot Shop

Pulaski Memorial Hospital

This week is World Breast Feeding Week and Sharon Berry, OB Nurse Manager at Pulaski Memorial Hospital, says the Hospital staff is encouraging the public to be aware of this healthy choice.

“Here at Pulaski Memorial Hospital, we are very proud to be working at a Hospital that recognizes the importance breast feeding has on the health of our community,” said Berry. “Our OB Department has started the pathway to becoming a baby friendly hospital. The baby friendly hospital initiative assists hospitals in giving mothers the information, confidence and skills needed to be successful at breast feeding.”

The Hospital does sponsor several free programs for mothers seeking help with breast feeding.

A Baby Shower for the Tot Shop will be held this Wednesday, August 3rd, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. ET at the Pulaski Memorial Hospital parking lot and lobby. The event is sponsored by the Hospital and the Heartland Breast Feeding Coalition.

“The Tot Shop is a baby boutique, or store, that provides new supplies for pregnant women and families with infants and young children up to age five. Families can exchange coupons obtained from health care and social service providers for the needed items. Coupons may be earned at prenatal exams, well-baby checkups or educational classes.”
